3rd Annual Carpinteria Christmas Bird Count!

Sunday December 18, 2011

In... CARPINTERIA, of Course!

image

The third annual Carpinteria Christmas Bird Count will take place on Sunday, December 18, 2011. Our count circle runs from Fernald Point to Rincon and from Old Man Mountain to off-shore. We hope to better the 146 species tallied last year during our second count. All birders, experienced and novice are welcome. A pot-luck compilation dinner will follow in the evening, at the clubhouse of the Silver Sands Mobile Home Park, 349 Ash Ave., Carpinteria.

Contact Rob Denholtz (phone: 805-684-4060) and let us know whether you'll be joining us.

Please check the list below to help us locate some of our more elusive birds before the count.

Rob Denholtz has put together a sheet of tips for identifying our local adult gulls and terns in non-breeding plumage. You can download it here.
