Enjoy ranch owners Lee Carr and his brother Charles Carr's hospitality at one of the best inland winter birding areas in the county!

Target Birds

Geese, Common Goldeneye, Wood Duck, Lewis's Woodpecker, Bald Eagle, Clark's Grebe, American White Pelican and other water and song birds.

Directions

  • From the south take Hwy 101 to Lake Cachuma/State Street off ramp.
  • Turn right on State Street.
  • Turn right into the Five Points Shopping Center.
  •  
  • From the north take Hwy 101 to the State Street off ramp.
  • Turn left on State St.
  • Turn right into the Five Points Shopping Center.
  •  
  • We will meet and park near Carl's Jr restaurant at 7:30am. MAP
  •  
  • Or you can meet us at 8:00am at the gate to the Rancho Santa Barbara
  • (4001 Hwy 154, pipe gate with large star on it)
  •  
  • We must all meet at the gate and enter the ranch as a group.

Bring Snacks, Water and Comfortable walking shoes.
We will be walking about 2.25 miles.
Binoculars a must, spotting scopes are useful.
