PLEASE HELP US BUILD IT!

Artist rendering floorplan

$150,000 will build the aviary, and support Audubon's educational programs for one year.

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to our wonderful donors! We have exceeded our goal of $150,000, but with building costs increasing during the long effort to secure the building permits, the additional donations will be put to good use. Any funds not used for construction will be used to support the educational activities of the Eyes-in-the-Sky program.

Max and babies
brochure

Through a mutual goal to inspire a passion for the natural world, Santa Barbara Audubon Society and the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History are working together to construct permanent housing for six birds of prey who cannot survive in the wild, as an educational exhibit open to the public and a base of operations for popular educational programs.

Your donation will:

  • Build a new home for Max and other rescued raptors

  • Provide the necessary facilities for the volunteers who care for them

  • Establish the Museum of Natural History's first exhibit of live birds

  • Provide experiences that leave children genuinely excited, and help them develop a profound and lasting appreciation of nature and wildlife.

NAMING OPPORTUNITIES!

Naming opportunities exist for those who wish to underwrite significant portions of the new aviary, either in their name or in honor or memory of a loved one. The donor's name will appear on the Donor Wall and also on plaques attached to the named enclosures.

  • Name the Building          $50,000

  • 1: Name Max's Enclosure          $25,000

  • 2 - 4: Name the Hawk and Falcon Enclosures          3 at $15,000 each

  • 5 - 6: Name the Kestrel and Screech Owl Enclosures          2 at $10,000 each

Please print out the attached pledge card and mail it with your donation. We will be grateful for your help and Max and his feathered housemates will be eternally in your debt!
